The Greek Temple of Hera in Selinunte is one of the most impressive temples that I have ever seen! The historic site is absolutely massive and I was actually able to climb on top of this temple. You can see the ruins in the picture on the right hand side but what you can’t see are the sheer size of the columns of the temple that is in ruins. I remember while I was exploring (my version of climbing on things that I shouldn’t) the ruins I found a column that was the size of a 3 bedroom house in the United States. Just across the valley on another mountain top you can see a fallen city very similar to Pompeii. The only difference is the city in Selinunte, Sicily, isn’t as well preserved as the popular city in Pompeii.
