My Favorite Mobile Trading Offices After 7 Years On the Road

Today I will be sharing my favorite mobile trading offices after 7 years on the road. I still remember the day I decided to quit my job to travel around the world.

I felt this deep feeling in my gut not knowing how things were going to turn out.

As you can see by my traveling exploits here on WanderingTrader and our group of traders at Day Trading Academy it turned out pretty well.

Even though at that point I was day trading successfully, had plenty of money in the bank, and didn’t have any reason to worry, I was still terrified on the unknown.

I think that is how most of us feel when taking any risks in our life.

It is commonly said that we regret more of the things we didn’t do than the things that we did. I think we live in a society where we are gripped by fear of not knowing what is going to happen. Or better yet terrified by something bad happening. If there is one thing I have learned after all these years of traveling around the world it is from this quote:

“Failure is a man-made circumstance. It is never real until it has been accepted by man as permanent. Stating it another way, failure is a state of mind, therefore, it is something an individual can control until he neglects to exercise this privilege.”

It was written by Napolean Hill in the great book Think and Grow Rich.

If your not driving or in the middle of walking down the street take a second and read that quote again. This is the vision I’ve always had for my life. That nothing is impossible until you say admit to yourself that it is.

The primary reason why I have been able to experience these amazing mobile trading offices the last few years.

I decided that day when I quit my job that this was going to be my life for the next few years.  You may also recognize a few of these pictures from the new redesign on WanderingTrader :D.

Mobile trading office in Italy

One of the great things about being able to day trading for a living is the ability to literally work from anywhere. There are many people who ask if internet is reliable enough around the world.  To be honest working from this mobile trading office above in Venice the internet was actually atrocious.   But it only needs to be fast enough in order to see market data.

We don’t actually need high speed internet in order to day trade, we just need a reliable connection.

While already visiting all 7 continents was something I achieved back in 2012.  There was a small bucket list item to add, a mobile trading office on the shores of the Great Barrier Reef. This is from a small town called Clifton Beach  just north of Cairns (pronounced Cans) which is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

If I had to choose one location to work from the rest of my life Santorini would be in my top five. I actually enjoyed Santorini more than I did the Amalfi Coast can you believe that?  I prefer the food in Greece rather than the food in Italy since it isn’t a variation of pasta all the time. After hitting 30 I am trying to watch my figure after all….

Mobile trading office in Sorrento

This trading office is on the back side of the Amalfi Coast in a city called Sorrento.  Most of the pictures here are dominated by my recent trip to Europe where I was able to visit Portugal, Spain, Italy, Istanbul, Santorini, and other less visited locations like Tropea and the above city of Sorrento.

This mobile trading office on the Amalfi Coast is perhaps one of my top favorites. There is nothing like waking up to this view each and every day.  Then going up to the pool and drinking a class Italian Latte. There is something to be said for this part of the world. It is a shame that Italy is so backwards.

Every time I head back to Venice I always go back to the same exact hotel. The internet is good (enough) to be able to day trade and views are excellent. The popular Rialto Bridge is in the background just under the flag with the color red on the tip.  Nearby is a water taxi station that allows one to get anywhere in the city which makes it super convenient. While everything seems central in Venice you can get around pretty easily via the taxis as well.

There is nothing like Brazil. While currently it is being overrun with the Zika virus, Rio de Janeiro is a culmination of many things, working is not one of them. I like to visit Brazil in October when the time changes and for roughly 3 weeks the markets are 2/3 hours ahead of New York Time.

Nothing like a little Samba in the evening and a little trading after waking up late.

Mobile Trading office in Thailand

This mobile trading office was set in the only place I have been in Thailand, Koh Samui. Endless blue water is what characterizes this part of the world as you can see in the picture.  Here I couldn’t get reliable enough internet to trade but that was still my office there on the right 😉

Mobile Trading Office in Somalia

I did want to share two of my trading offices in places that weren’t the best in the world. I know that it always seems like those who travel are having an awesome time but that isn’t always the case. The most challenging time I had finding reliable internet was when I lived in Africa for well over six months, Ethiopia and Kenya respectively. It was always a challenge to find not a high speed connection but a reliable one.

This was my exceptional office in Somaliland which is the left side of Somalia that is trying to become it’s own country. As you can see by the luxurious amenities I am working from a ping pong table on top of a freezer. Did anyone notice the amazing futuristic blackberry next to my laptop? Do they even exist anymore? lol

Mobile Trading Office in Colombia

While my mobile trading office now looks very different in Colombia this is what I would consider home. The country not the fancy digs above. One of the great things about technology is when I first started traveling around the world 4g networks were underway and internet still wasn’t that easy to find. Above was the only counter top available where I could work since the place we were staying was being used for something. As you can see I have my blackberry connected and am using a 3g connection in order to be able to trade.

Ah the good times.

So there you have it…..

My favorite mobile trading offices after 7 years from traveling around the world. 90 countries doesn’t seem like a lot but I am truly blessed to have been able to live the life I have lived over the last few years. Sometimes I sit back and realize that I have done more in the last 6 months than most people do in a lifetime.

I hope this inspires you to follow your dreams and always remember that nothing is impossible until you admit to yourself that it is. You haven’t failed until you stop trying.
