There are quite a few fascinating places you can visit this year, but why not visit a place that has been named among the top 20 places in the world for travel destinations in 2012. Belfast not only has a wealth of things to do and see, it holds a lot of history and amazing stories that you might have only heard about your entire life. There is quite a bit that you can put on your list when you are there from Van Morrison’s Birthplace to the Titanic Dock and Pump House.
If you are interested in the Titanic and all the history that surrounds it, then you definitely want to be a part of the Titanic Belfast Festival for 2012. There are all sorts of events and attractions with some of the highlights. One will be The Wireless Room where you can experience what it was like at the time the ship was sinking with sound effects and music recorded in the ships’ logs and reports from one survivor. You will also have the chance to take part in the Titanic Commemoration Service and Unveiling of the Titanic Memorial Garden on the east side of the Belfast City Hall.
Another experience you might not want to miss out on will be the Titanic Light show held at the new Titanic Museum to celebrate its opening. There will be 3D motion graphics and synchronized pyrotechnics for a 40 minute, must see performance.
Don’t worry though, while there is not much that can substitute being there in person, the event will be steamed live online for all those who were not able to get a ticket. So, whether you can make it for the festival or not, when you are thinking about destinations to visit for 2012, keep Belfast at the top of your list. There is so much to see and do, you would be doing yourself an injustice not to consider it.
