One of the smallest countries in the world, Singapore is also, one of the most interesting places on earth. A veritable megapolis, Singapore is a lot of things; a city, a country, and an oasis in a part of the world that doesn’t really beat to the same drum. Singapore is a place where different people from around the world migrated and learned to work together and create a society that just, well, works!
Believe it or not, there are four official languages in Singapore, Malay, Mandarin, English and Tamil. Most locals speak to one another in a very interesting and fun to listen to creole, known as Singlish. Singaporeans for the most part are also extremely friendly and accommodating, so don’t feel embarrassed to politely stop someone on the street and ask for some help or directions if you need it.
Singapore and Changi Airport, one of the most modern and efficient airports in the world, are working on a big PR push to showcase what this amazing place has to offer, and boy, is it a lot. Imagine shredding on an artificial wave at the wavehouse on Sentosa Island, or enjoying unique, international cuisine in a beautifully preserved Chinese shop house that’s a 150 years old.
Singapore offers something for every lucky visitor. You can have beach, nature, history, shockingly delicious and varied cuisine, shopping, adventure, amusement parks, and much more. Since it’s right next to equator, you can enjoy warm tropical weather, year round. No need for a winter coat here!
