Travel Plans For The Rest of 2012: Im Moving to India!

With time comes change and I couldn’t stay in South America for ever.  I have recently visited my second to last country in South America, Peru, and plan on visiting Ecuador as well. The continent has been more than kind but I feel that it is time for a change.  I am ready for something completely different.

I already made plenty of changes for my travels in 2012 and the 2nd half of 2012 is going to be just that, different.  Really different, like I’m moving to India different.   I am the South America expert as I am one of the few people that I know of that has truly visited every single country (and tourist attraction) in South America.

How many people do you think have visited the Guyana’s?

Most people don’t even know they exist. I also have done every major tourist attraction on the continent as well, the only ones I’m missing are Galapagos islands and Easter island which I’ve recently made reservations for. The focus for my move is more than just travel as I have begun to teach day traders how to make money in the markets.

Visiting India

That’s Me & India.. that’s how we get down

At the end of last year, I was convinced by a very high number of day traders to start helping them make money with my day trading strategy since they weren’t getting enough help from other companies I have been a part of. I remember I was living in Ethiopia at the time and was very hesitant on training other people.

I was already doing a great job of balancing traveling and day trading and didn’t know if I wanted the extra responsibility of teaching others how to day trade as well. Fast forward almost a year later and I have a full fledged day trading program that teaches people how to day trade via the Day Trading Academy.

The reason why I tell you that story is because the reason why I am moving to India is because I plan on starting a day trading center.  I am already looking at the prospects of opening a day trading center here in my current home in Brazil and have also made preliminary plans to open a center in Colombia as well.

Before India, I’m going to visit the one place that I refused to visit until I was old, Europe.

I always detested traveling to the continent because everyone travels to Europe. I like to visit off the track places where modernization has not ruined cultures and local habits such as Somaliland, South Sudan, the Guyana’s, Ethiopia, and even Madagascar.

The reason for my visit to Europe is I have been invited to Belgium to promote the Flanders Festival. I’m really excited to be part of another press trip after the success of my trip to Israel.  The Flanders Festival will be in September, after which I plan on visiting my European crush Barcelona.

We have been flirting with each other for quite some time and now I won’t let her out of my grasp. There’s always been something about Barcelona that has fascinated me and it has always been my favorite Spanish city.

That’s a lot to say for someone that has never visited Spain.

I also wanted to attend various travel Expos including the World Travel Market, TBEX Europe, and possibly TBU (travel bloggers unite).  I have also signed up to be at the 2012 Money Show in London, it will be great to see my day trading brethren.

I have a lot of friends in London and since the city is a day trading hub I would love to be able to spend a month or two there. If anyone knows any great furnished apartments to rent, definitely send them my way.

I might do something exotic and unexpected like seeing the most visited city in the world, Paris, but I really have my sights on doing something crazy and visiting Turkey.  It is now the eighth most visited country in the world with no surprise.

Setting up a base in India will prove to be difficult as I have not decided exactly where I want to live. The most obvious choice will be Mumbai as that is the financial center of the country and that is the best place to start a day trading center. My move to India will probably start in late November to early December and I can’t wait to share the stories via the day trading blog.

I’m going to see a if the Indian consulate in Brazil will allow me to get a visa here. The idea is to combine the time it takes to see all of India with the time that it’s going to take to build the day trading center. I always like to see and do everything in a region and the size of India, as well as a things to do, are very underestimated.

I estimate that the subcontinent will take a minimum of six months to see, consider that will only be the highlights.

I also like the fact that India is in the center of all of the places I want to travel to. With Dubai growing as a great base and new airlines like Ethiopian airlines rising I will be able to get in and out of Europe, Asia, or even Africa within a few hours.  Onward to Europe and India!

  1. Fantastic itinerary and I love the fact that the move will be about more than travel. Your day centre will contribute more. Exciting times and inspirational for my own agenda.

  2. First photo – que sexy! Lol haha Only you could pull off a pose like that, dude! Excited for you with your future extensive travel plans! Wish I got into day trading in my earlier days; I still don’t understand it to this day and have fully given up on it!

  3. Sounds like an exciting and adventurous journey! Cool photo! You somehow managed to get yourself a magic carpet ride! 😛 Cheers to the travel lifestyle! – Pablo

  4. Good luck with your move to India, an anxious move I’d imagine after so much time on one continent.

I’m glad to see you’ve chosen to visit Europe as there are many places where modernisation hasn’t completely eradicated the local customs and habits, even here in the UK.

In regards to finding a place to stay in London for a couple of months, try Gumtree type websites.

    Best of luck, Ross

  5. India sounds like a lot of fun! It’s definitely at the top of countries I still need to visit. And Europe is a bit “overrated,” but I love it there anyway! Moving to Germany in a few weeks 🙂

    1. Glad someone thinks like I do… I think Europe is a bit overrated also.. going to make my first trip there in September (mainland western europe) You will love Berlin its an amazing city…

  6. That’s so awesome that you’re moving to India- I have to say that is my dream vacation. Kind of weird, maybe, but I’ve always been fascinated with traveling that country.

I actually came back from my first trip to Brazil just 3 days ago, I had no idea you lived there- that’s pretty cool 🙂 I’d love to go back (maybe for the 2016 Olympics?) and see Rio, as well as a few other places I missed and really wanted to see while I was there.

Best of luck in India- and enjoy Europe! Even though EVERYONE goes there (I’m going in about a week) it’s so worth it. I adore Europe. 😀

  7. I didn’t go to as many places as I would have liked in Brazil because I was with family. I stayed in the city of Valadares for most of my trip, went to Guarapari beach, visited the city of Vitoria and some surrounding beaches, and drove up to a small place called Tumiritinga which is really a tiny village of a dozen or so streets! But it was a great experience and really opened my eyes to Brazil! I really loved Valadares because it was a small city but it still had some downtown energy to it, and if you drove just half an hour you were in the countryside & there were some beautiful things to see. I went to Ibituruna one day and LOVED it- that might have been my favorite!

  8. I can’t wait to revisit India – it’s so high on my list, although I’ve already been there. I can’t wait to see your pictures and hear your stories from there.

  9. Agree with your “Europe” comments Marcello.
I spent a couple of months backpacking around western Europe. It was “nice” for sure, but so well travelled, documented, expensive and photographed now….
I made the decision that whilst young, fit, and crazy, I would do the hard intrepid travelling first, and easy stuff when I’m old. Good theory which has served me well so far (been to 58+ countries over some 30 years now).
Just come back from trekking in Patagonia, and planning India /Nepal next year… maybe see you over there perhaps lol
Keep up the great adventures and reports. Love to dream while I am stuck at my office desk.
    Adios

  10. While in India, if you want to visit unspoiled places, some good options are Burma and Laos, worth visiting before they start getting to crowded.

  11. Hey Marcello, when in India, do visit Bangalore! We have a travellers’ community here and we gather once a month for an event called Travellers Thursday (check the fb link)…

Will be great to meet you if you do visit Bangalore!

    Cheers

  12. India, an interesting move. One mistake I might point out is that Ethiopian Air is not new in fact its 66 years old this year. Enjoy your travel mate!

  13. Madan,The youth’s interest in the west has to do with their need for vialitty and colour in their lives. In my humble opinion; with the exception of a handful of people who purely pursue a spiritual ideal and are following purely their soul and nothing else, most people lead a mixed life leaning as much on external things for support as within themselves, they look for support in Mind and Soul. The current generation feels a total disconnect from the embellishments of spiritual life such as rituals and rites, religions and traditions etc; which by the way have long ceased to be embellishments but are now serious ill-habits. Repeating the Gayatri Mantra hundred times a day without sincerely listening to each syllable and striving to know its meaning is to me as insincere as religious’ middle-class India’s terrible habit of burping out the word OM’ after every grand meal! But why in the first place would the youth feel this disconnect with religion, with spiritual life? Obviously because they can’t see or haven’t experienced the spirit. Their common sense tells them to go after what they can see. So they turn to the west where they find colour and life. True spiritual experiences come to the patient and perseverant individuals, and therefore might for a long while not be for the masses like the Harry Potter books which appeal to the vital and the imagination alone.

  14. Marcello, I just found your website and I am loving it. We are moving to Ecuador soon and setting up shop there and we have been looking at Mumbai as our first jump… I am retiring early to travel the world so we are setting up shop in an area that is affordable, then every year we will travel to a new area for a couple months… then back to Ecuador. We figure once we find some place we like more we will move there next and make it our base camp. Thanks for all the info you are giving… George

    1. My pleasure George.. Ecuador isn’t at the top of my list in terms of living standards but have heard some people enjoy it. I would prefer Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Brazil in South America. The cheapest being Peru of course
