The Beautiful Great Barrier Reef in Australia

Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef

Visiting the beautiful Great Barrier Reef in Australia was amazing to experience. I’ve had the pleasure of diving in the Galapagos Islands, Easter Island, Colombia, United States, Argentina, and now the largest coral reef in the world.  This was taken on a cruise to the Agincourt Reef on the outer edge of the reef near the continental shelf (where the seabed starts to go deep, very deep).  We chose to visit the outer reefs assuming there was less contact with people and we would see more fish. The pictures under water were just as impressive as it was above water.

We did find Nemo and also a curious and very friendly fish named Chunky.  Chunky would pose for photos with everyone and loved to receive massages and scratches. Very unusual for a fish.  The cruise takes an entire day with anywhere between  two to three diving/snorkeling opportunities. Look forward to sharing more pictures from the Great Barrier Reef soon.
