The Dakata Rock that literally hangs by an inch is one of the popular things to see around Harar. The Rock is held in place by a very small area with the rock at its base. Rumor has it that during the military rule in Ethiopia soldiers would come and try and knock the rock off its base. The soldiers would even try to shoot the the rock in order to make it fall off its base but couldn’t do it which the reason why it still sits this way. The photo is a bit blurry which I tried to clean up but you can get an idea of why its so unique.
