Hungry Crab At Galapagos Islands

Crab Galapagos Islands

The hungry crab at the Galapagos Islands is probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I don’t think that anyone (besides a crab researcher or a beach bum) has seen a crab actually eating.  Most of us have seen crabs just running away from us. While at the Galapagos Islands with Quasar Expeditions we were roaming around a beach that contains tons of sting rays. We were not allowed to swim because of the amount of sting rays in the water (and the shark we saw) but this crab captured everyone’s attention.   He captured a snake for dinner and was actively eating it right in front of us. It was incredible.

  1. That is an amazing photo! I have only seen a crab eating a centipede in Florida.

Excellent blog by the way, I am following now. 🙂

  2. This is fascinating! I love seeing creatures in their natural habitat, doing what they need to do to get by, and the Galápagos Islands is the pinnacle place for such an activity! A colourful homage to Darwin.

  3. Beautiful place for vacation. I spent a week with my family members. It was amazing days.
Also I like one more place Mangalore. It is really beautiful and Hill station with Beaches is the best part of this place. It memorize your vacation days and makes you feel good when you lost with your work pressure.

  4. What a fantastic photo! We were exploring the Galapagos Islands the same week you were, and the wildlife photo ops were absolutely amazing. But this one you captured is definitely a prize-winner. Were you that close to it, or did you have a long telephoto lens?
