Lava Lizard in Galapagos Islands

Lava Lizard in Galapagos Islands

Getting any close to this lava lizard in the Galapagos Islands would have been impossible.  I’d like to remind you that I do not use a camera that resembles a 1970 cell phone with a lens the size of a basketball player.  I use a normal Canon point and shoot camera that has a humble 20X optical zoom on it.  I would say that I was roughly 4-7 feet away but this little guy just sat there and posed for the camera. He isn’t an adorable baby sea lion or a cool looking monster land iguana but he is just as impressive as many of the other creatures we encountered at the Galapagos.

Quasar Expeditions was kind enough to sponsor our trip to the Galapagos and the tour guides were quick enough to be able to point these little guys out to use. If it wasn’t for them I don’t think we would have actually noticed them at all.

Peruse the Galapagos Picture Gallery here and check out the top 5 page for more things to do in Ecuador and around the world.

  1. The click is amazing, surely Canon can give you fine prints and some magic moments to capture for your lifetime. Spotting a lava lizard in the midst of all other creatures is surely an expert job. The Land Iguana was another beautiful shot that I observed on your previous post.
