This is the main gate in Harar that gives access to the center of the old city. Many people don’t know this but Harar is the 4th holiest city for muslims after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. The city is one of the most interesting cities to me in terms of the people and the interactions that occur. If you didn’t know Harar is where you are able to feed wild Hyenas, I like to feed them with my mouth. While Lalibela, Gondar, and Axum all have an incredible amount of history as well, this city has something different about it that I can’t quite put my finger on.
