I have never been exposed to Orthodox Christianity other than my recent trip to Ethiopia. It was very interesting to see a completely different side of Christianity all throughout the country. The two men above are found in a very small monastery just outside the popular city of Gondar (the Camelot of Ethiopia). The monastery was located on an island on Lake Tana which was roughly 3 hours away, 2 hours by mini bus and 1 hour by boat. Women were not allowed in the monastery or allowed to get off of the boat to view the village where the priests in the monastery live. The priests live very basic lives and live off of the land as well.
