This sunrise in Venice was capped off with a pleasant surprise. The massive sail boat passing in the distance was something that I have been waking up at 5 am every morning to see. The sunrises in Venice normally occur around 5.50am but getting there early is what its all about. To the left one can find Doges Palace and the entrance to the Grand Canal there just to the right. In just a few hours this square will be mobbed by tourists from around the world. Would highly recommend an early visit to enjoy the serenity and charm of Venice.
We will have more pictures of Venice up shortly. Don’t forget to peruse our picture gallery for more pictures!
What a fabulous shot of a spectacular Venice sunrise. The passing sailboat certainly adds charm to the image. Great job getting up early not only to capture this amazing image but also to avoid the inevitable crowds as you mentioned!
