The things to do in Mendoza and Bariloche are very unique in all of Argentina. These two cities can be classified under the Andes region instead of Patagonia as they lie in the foothills of the Andes. From the wine districts, trekking through the mountains, or even having some good chocolate, they have something for everyone in Mendoza and Bariloche.

THINGS TO DO IN MENDOZA, ARGENTINA

The things to do in Mendoza are extremely diverse. It is the most western city in Argentina and was actually the only place where I found a Wal-mart.  The city is Argentina’s wine capital where you can find excellent wines including the Argentinian favorite, Malbec.

The tallest mountain in the Western hemisphere will delight you as well, Aconcagua. The great mountain peak will give you picturesque views and great trekking and climbing opportunities.

The hang gliding available in Mendoza will blow your mind and the rafting is also very impressive. The actual city itself has great sightseeing opportunities with a large park available for picnics and other family activities. There are streets lined with trees and many European style plazas where you can spend your time.

Chocolate Happy Face!

The things to do in Bariloche are similar to the things to do in Switzerland. The city is easily compared to the great European country with the snow capped mountains and chocolate shops on every corner. You can indulge in beautiful scenic sunrises and sunsets and on a clear day, gorgeous views of the lakes and valleys in the area.

Cruises are available to tour the lake region where you can visit not only a popular petrified forest, but also a nearby waterfall. Make sure to come in shape because the abundance of readily available chocolate will certainty have you leaving with an extra few pounds. Winter activities are obvious with the mountains in the area; skiing, snow boarding, and ice climbing.
