Peru is internationally famous for the ancient Inca site of Machu Picchu after Hiram Bingham brought it to the world’s attention in 1911.  Most people don’t realize that there are tons of things to do in Peru other than the great Inca site.  While Peru is one of the poorest nations in South America, it boasts a wide array of tourist attractions and unique things to explore.

After hiking the great Inca Trail and taking the popular picture with Machu Picchu in the background head to the Amazon to explore what one of the world’s most unique ecosystems has to offer.  There is a big impact from indigenous cultures in the country and you can also explore the history that that Peru has to offer.  Peru is bordered by Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, and Chile.
