Suriname is the smallest country in South America by both population and land mass. While the country may be small, it is rich in cultures, diversity, and a level of efficiency that is rarely found in South America. Suriname is one of the only places in the world where you will find a Jewish Synagogue and Muslim Mosque sitting right next to each other, not in the same block, right next to each other.
The country has a great sense of community and it happens to be one of my favorite countries in South America. It isn’t on the common tourist trial and since the official language is Dutch, most tourists come from the Netherlands, not United States. I definitely recommend you visit Suriname to get a differest taste of a very unique country. Suriname is considered the Dutch Guyana and is bordered by Guyana, French Guiana, and Brazil.
