This mosque in Paramaribo is no regular mosque. What’s so unique about the mosque is how it sits right next to a Jewish synagogue. Around the world there are synagogues and mosques within a block of each other and maybe even on the same block. But there is no other place in the world where you can find a mosque and synagogue sitting right beside each other. That is one of the things that makes Paramaribo so unique in the world. It has such a vast array cultures that blend together to make such a welcoming city. There isn’t any strife between any two cultures at least not while I was there. It was truly one of the unique places I have been in South America!

I was really impressed with this one they let us sneak in to take a look at the inside.. too bad the clouds rolled in couldn’t keep taking good pictures 🙁
I actually couldn’t enter the mosque because it was closed for the day.. the word mosque actually derived from the spanish word Mosca meaning fly if I am not mistaken 🙂 Thanks for comment
