Macchu Picchu is one of those places that you can’t describe. A picture is always worth 1000 words, seeing Macchu Picchu in real life will leave you speechless. This place is truly incredible and when you climb the mountain that you see in this picture, Wayna Picchu, the views get even more surreal. Macchu Picchu is one of the tourist attractions that you couldn’t possibly miss in all of South America. It was the most ironic thing because the days that I visited Machu Picchu the weather wasn’t behaving. The one day when the skies were blue and you could see far into the distance was the day that I had to leave the city of Machu Pichu (Aguas Calientes). Go figure right?
More pictures of Peru & Machu Picchu coming soon! Don’t forget to check out the top 5 section for more things to do in Peru & around the world.
Wow, what a breath taking scene, how long is the hike to the top? do you actually hike there or is there a mode of transportation to get you to the top?
Also is there a close by cheap hotel to stay at in the area?
Nigel.. I didn’t hike there I took the train. You can get there by train in roughly 3 hours and getting to Machu Pachu is roughly 20 minutes by bus but you can walk up from Aguas Caliantes which the city near Machu Picchu. There are tons of hostels to stay at 🙂
Those pics are amazing. Definitely on the bucket list. The history and look of that area is spectacular. Looking forward to more pics.
Thanks Jeremy.. it was definitely a surreal experience

Wow Machu Picchu pictures are always absolutely amazing. Have you done the “long” version of the Inca Trail or did you take the train?
