This was something very unique to see in Ethiopia. The man on the right is a priest that happened to be my tour guide. Lalibela is an extremely religious city and one of the reasons it was built was in order to be the 2nd Jerusalem. When you enter into a church you always take off your shoes off to show respect and also pay respects to the priest of the church. One thing that may sound ironic is that I did find that even Ethiopian priests are hypocrites, look forward to writing that post very soon.
